This next cigar cigar comes from about a month of seeing it mentioned on Twitter and my friend Matt asking me a few times if I had seen or tried one. A couple of weeks ago, yet again I was able to get away from the family for a little bit and do a bit of ‘grown-up’ shopping. You know, for the important things: Whiskey, rum and cigars. And while finishing said grown-up shopping, I stopped by my favorite B&M in town, only to walk right into the box/display of LFD Andalusian Bull. I more or less picked one up right away and kept shopping, more than happy to give it a go.
No external construction problems were found in my initial examination of the Andalusian Bull. The nose gave me rich aromas of cedar while the cold draw gave me dried fruit and spice on the tip of the tongue. After the cut and light, I was greeted with a balanced draw and opening flavor notes of wood, spice, pepper around the back of the palette and black coffee on the aftertaste. The opening flavor profile really pulled me in and along with its medium to full bodied strength, the cigar is exactly what I normally gravitate to. At the 35 minute mark, the cigar’s spice and peppery notes finally began to mellow out, leaving more wood and coffee notes. By the midway point, I began getting stronger wood and something sweet on the profile. And in the last inch to inch and a half, everything got turned up and stronger. The return of black coffee and the introduction of leather crept into the flavor profile. Final smoking on the Andalusian Bull was 1:50.
The biggest problem I had with the cigar was that the burn on this cigar was uneven for likely 1:30 out of the 1:50 total smoking time (roughly 86% of the time). Between that and the (for me) higher cost of the cigar, this one is definitely a once-in-a-great-while cigar.

To recap the La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull:
- I enjoyed the cigar’s flavor profile a lot and love the size of it. Regular fans of La Flor Dominicana cigars will likely enjoy this one.
- The strength and price of this cigar will keep some cigar smokers away.
- And speaking of the price, you might be able to find this a little bit cheaper online. Even still, the price I paid at my B&M makes this cigar out of my normal comfort range. Again, I enjoyed this cigar but not enough to where I want to play $16.19 on a regular basis.
- I think I would have enjoyed this one a lot more if I wasn’t attempting to correct a burn every 20 minutes. It’s one I want to try again the next time I venture over to my B&M and want to spend some extra money.
Thank you very much for reading. I look forward to the next time I can share my thoughts with you.
