Background
I remember last year hearing about the Sincado Cigar company and that it was formed by some cigar shop owners but don’t think I had tried any of their cigars before now. A few weeks ago Dave and I were approached and asked if we were interested in giving them a try and we both said yes. Dave’s review and the details on the cigar can be found here. This was the second cigar I smoked.
Prelight
The wrapper on this cigar was a nice golden brown in color. This one had a good amount of oils to it in spite of the fact that it wasn’t celloed. The cigar felt slightly velvety to the touch as there wasn’t much tooth and the veins were fairly small. The box press was nicely executed as well as the wrap of the cigar. I do agree with Dave that the band has a slightly Old West/Las Vegas feel to it. When I gave the cigar a squeeze there was a slight amount of give without any soft spots. Putting my nose to the cigar I could detect the aroma of hay and leather from the wrapper and the closed foot. After clipping it and taking a cold draw on it I got notes of sugar and salt with an ok draw.
Flavor
The cigar starts off with a pretty good blast of spice on the tongue and retrohale. After taking a few more puffs on it I noted tastes of wood and leather with hints of cinnamon. Towards the end of this third I started to get the sweet and salt flavors on the finish. Even with the fairly heavy spice the cigar starts off in the medium range in regards to strength. The flavors didn’t really change as I moved into the second third with the exception of the spice toning down a bit. The final third I noted some flavors of graham, wood, coffee, and leather with a slightly sweet finish. The cigar maybe got into the medium-full range by the end of the cigar.
Construction
The construction on this cigar was ok. The draw was tighter than I normally prefer at the beginning but it did open up by the beginning of the second third. The burn line did need some correcting as there was a pretty good run in the burn line in the first third. The cigar seemed like it burned fairly quickly, which could have just been a perception. The first cigar I tried didn’t have the first two issues but it did seem to burn pretty quickly.
Value
I agree with Dave on this too. There are a lot of other cigars in this price range that I would enjoy more.
Conclusions
Overall this was a pretty good cigar. It isn’t something that wow-ed me though. I do think that a good cup of coffee would be a nice paring to this cigar. It wasn’t overly strong or have a nicotine kick to it so most people could smoke it without problems.

Great review, appreciate the comments.
Nice review and I am looking forward to trying these. When you guy mention a Vegas feel, I keep thinking you are talking about cheap and easy to squeeze.. I hope to meet you guys at IPCPR
LOL…I don’t mean cheap. I meant a bit glitzy sort of like Freemont Street. Unfortunately no on IPCPR this year. But I will be back in November for another class.
Awesome right up, cool looking band.
