I can’t think of the last time that I have smoked anything from Warped Cigars. It’s not one that I find in my local shops on my side of the Mississippi. So when I caught a mention of something new from them via Small Batch Cigars, I was interested in giving it a shot. Two interesting facts about the Sky Flower in doing a bit of research on them, the first from Small Batch’s page on them and the second my own thoughts.
Sky Flower is a extremely limited production variation of Flor del Valle utilizing the rare ligero priming known as medio tiempo. You may have heard of this material before as it is used in the Cohiba Behike and has become known for the incredibly unique flavor and aroma it gives. Medio Tiempo does not grow on all tobacco plants as its a random occurrence offshoot of the ligero priming. These are small leaves and have to be picked out of the ligero harvest with tweezers…its difficult to process and requires immense time and experience to properly process (from Small Batch).
Each cigar comes with an authentication code. When entered on their website (and assuming it passes authentication), the website provides details on the cigar as you can see from the picture below. All in all, these things really make this cigar stand out from others in the market today.
No construction issues on the cigar chosen for review (first of the group). After the V cut, the pre-light aromas brought a balance of wood, earth and floral notes while the cold draw was a modest mix of light wood and faint spice. The light gave a balanced draw with opening flavor notes of spice and pepper (the pepper is in the front while the spice hits the sides of the palette), accompanied with moderate woody notes throughout the mix. The strength of the cigar hits around medium bodied and really doesn’t get much stronger than that throughout the smoking of it. At the nine minute mark, I noticed that the spice and pepper vanished altogether from the cigar, leaving a smooth, woody-flavored cigar to push onward. The cigar finished out in its last 20 minutes or so with lots of wood and subtle notes of cream. Total smoking time was a quick 0:40, perhaps a function of me smoking slightly faster with the coming colder weather.
One burn correction was made throughout the smoking of the cigar. Otherwise, it was great to the end.

- I liked the balance of spice and pepper with this easy smoking medium bodied cigar.
- The majority of cigar smokers can enjoy the Sky Flower wihout fail. It’s not going to scare anyone away.
- $15.00 per cigar is a bit steep; however, you are paying for the Medio Tiempo and the online authentication. The discount code helped in this.
- I would certainly buy these in my local shops and will consider them again the next time I shop at Small Batch. As soon as I get this reviewed scheduled, I’m heading outside to smoke one.
