Cigar: Elements Uranium
Size: 7×70
Tobacco Blend Origins: Honduras, Nicaragua, Mysterioso
Price: $8.64 from The Clean Machine, my local B&M
Coming off from the three Crux Cigars reviewed, I wanted to find a cigar to review that would differ from those from Crux. Walking around the walk-in humidor of my B&M, I came upon the Elements Uranium by Foundry Cigars not for its eye-catching packaging or flashy band but because of the size. It’s HUGE! If I’m wanting a larger ring gauge cigar, I’ll go with a 6×60 if I have plenty of time to smoke or something akin to a Nub when I’m shorter on time. I couldn’t pass the Elements Uranium up, simply for the fact that it would make for an interesting review.
I found no issues with the wrapper of the cigar; however, there was an area around the middle of the cigar that felt more overly packed than the rest. Strong pre-light notes of hay and straw came from the cigar, reminding me of being on a farm. As with the majority of larger ring gauges, I opted to punch the Elements Uranium (that and I don’t think I own a cutter large enough). It took a few matches to get this cigar properly lit, but when I did, I was met with an incredibly spicy punch to my palette right away. That much spice in some ways reminded me of the now-gone Diablo Cigars. For those who are not keen on heavy spice, be happy knowing that the spice flavors only stuck around for ten minutes, leaving behind a medium bodied cigar with woody notes. After the halfway point, the flavor and strength of the Elements Uranium mellowed out for the rest of the cigar, total smoking time being 1:53. I could have probably got another ten minutes or so from the remaining cigar but I was on a strong nicotine high and didn’t want that to move into nauseous territory.
I encounteres numerous burn issues and relights with this cigar. I think it was partially because of my decision to use a punch and not a cut. It could be that the way I draw the cigar overly burns one section of the cigar as opposed to the whole diameter of it. Should I smoke an Elements Uranium in the future, I’ll be opting for cutting it.

To recap the Elements Uranium:
- If you’re a fan of large ring gauge cigars under $10, then the Uranium is for you.
- While the spicy start of this cigar would be offputting for many, the medium body would flavors would be agreeable to most.
- The problem I have with this cigar is the size; 7×70 is a big cigar for the majority of cigar smokers. If you’re planning on tackling this, prepare accordingly (have a meal, etc.).
- This cigar size doesn’t fit into my normal smoking habits but I am willing to attempt this cigar again with a proper cut to see if I would have more favorable results the second time. Look for a follow-up article on this cigar later in the summer.
As always, thank you very much for reading and I look forward to the next time I can share my thoughts with you.
Just too doggone big,lol.
Nice review. Size is crazy. I just smoked the CAO Flathead that was 7×70 during an afternoon by the pool and in no rush. That too was good taste but just a long damn time. I might pick one of these up if I see it and save it for a day when I have NOTHING to do.
70 RG… ugh I am not a fan of these big RGs. I did some the Asylum 7×70 and it was a 3 hour job… not my thing
I won one of these at a Christmas party and did not like the cigar at all. Thought it was not just a large ring guage, but a large waste of tobacco.
Nowadays is a trend large rings, big cigars. I´m in. Hope try this one day. Thanks for the review!
Who has the time for something like this? I am not understanding the call for bigger RG’s lets knock it off and go smaller
I personally love a big gar, but my last 70 ring, the Asylum 13 kinda killed it for me…. Very strong, very long, took forever. Could had a 12pk burning it.. Does look pretty thou, wonder if it’s stronger??
