Today we welcome back Alexander G (@alexander_gbass) with a guest review of the Sons of Anarchy cigar:
Well as everybody is aware of the hit tv show Sons Of Anarchy, I will admit that I am a fan of the show as well. There has been some hype about this new cigar in which had made its debut in late August of this year. I decided to do a little investigating into this, I had learned from a source that works on the show and has appeared on a few shows during this, the 6th and unfortunately final season, that the producers teamed up with Black Crown to create this very appealing and palate pleasing cigar.
Now, for a few thoughts I’d like to share with you, my fellow cigar enthusiasts:
On another beautiful Southern California afternoon, I thought I would take a stroll down to the local BevMo Store in Upland, CA, and grab a few cigars before I left for some recording sessions, that at times can be very busy and not allow me to have a herf. As I’m lookin through the small but choicy selection of cigars, to add to the ones I had already picked out, I seen the SOA cigar box. Immediate thought was, ” I’ll be damned…it’s in the stores!!” Typically I would see this on a couple cigar retail sites such as Cigars International. So I ended up purchasing two of these awesome hand wrapped/rolled creations. One for sample and first impression. the other for review.
As I was finally able to get a break from a busy evening for some dinner and smoke, as I pulled the Black Crown SOA from the wrapper, it was firm to the touch, wasn’t very oily or veiny for that matter. I punched the backend and had a cold draw, I got a note of some pepper, not too strong at first. I went ahead and lit it up to enjoy a herf. From the first to the third quarter there were some noticeable but not overwhelming notes of pepper, spice, and earth, the pepper and spice were standing out a bit more through the retrohale. The one thing that HIGHLY stood out about this stick was the consistency of the flavors and the burn through the majority. The burn created some flaky ash and nice, billowy light grey smoke which that left a quite pleasing aroma to the nose. There was also a hint of leather in the mix as well including a nicotine influence which left me experiencing a slight nicotine buzz.
While sitting outside and enjoying the awesome Medium-full bodied cigar as I ended the third and began the fourth quarter, the nicotine tone begun to be slightly stronger. As I set it down in my ash tray I went to have a drink and read the schedule of my clients for the evening, my cigar had went out; I had to relight it twice to finish up to the nub, which was really not too bad compared to what I am sure we have all experienced with cigars that just wont stay lit. There the burn became more uneven and rigid. All the flavors that this cigar had became much more apparent in the last quarter…but what surprised me was how smooth it was. Like i had stated earlier it was not an overwhelming rush of flavors which would assist my decision in smoking the Sons Of Anarchy by Black Crown again.

Final thoughts:
This was one damn tasty stick!!! It had just enough flavor to keep me interested but not enough to be completely overtaken by it. I will again be smoking this collaboration between the Folks at Sons Of Anarchy Production department and those at Black Crown Cigars.

Nice review buddy, I have seen these on the CI mags that come to my house but to be honest they never really turned me on. I never watched the show and this just didn’t seem like it would be down my alley but maybe I’ll pick up one or two next time I’m at CI
